Wear what we wear’ Steelers New Fashion Campaign

The Pittsburgh Steeler’s organization has launched a brand new fashion line for fans to express the love they have for their favorite sport’s team. The Pittsburgh Steelers even have their own website to make it simple to look through different styles and options of clothing to show their Steelers pride. Susan McGalla the new Director of Strategic Planning for the Steelers announced that the website dedicated to the new fashion line can be located here at Shop Steelers.

Susan McGalla unfold the motivation behind the new line of Steelers fan outfit, sustaining that fans would contact the Steelers organization quite frequently showing interest in finding out more about clothing they saw the Steelers coaches, staff and players wearing during the games.

“We’re constantly innovating around the fans. We’re bringing in focus groups talking about how we can have them share and be part of the organization in more vibrant ways,” she says. “And we’re embracing social networking in ways to make happen very seamless, very quick and very fun.”

The “Wear What We Wear” line introduce new articles for men that include business-appropriate items that can be worn to work, which was the biggest input from their side of the table. The line dedicated to women futures items more feminine, with a little bling on the side and for infants, moms can buy their little ones’ pink animal print Steelers onesies.

“This is the whole idea of sport goes into street. You can dress it up or you can dress it down,” says Susan McGalla. “This has the thumbholes which a lot of the girls look for. Great zip, understated Steeler logo, but it’s there. And we can amp it up a little bit with a great scarf with a little bit of bling.”

Also, this year, Steelers launched a new line of fashion accessories: Pandora jewelry with Steelers charms. For this to happen, the Steeler’s organization has associated with some big name labels such as Tommy Behama, Nike Golf, and Victoria’s Secret.

McGalla knows retail. She took her first step into the business world in 1986, starting her carrier as a manager at Joseph Horne Company. She continued with Joseph Horne until 1994. Later that year, she joined American Eagle as a divisional merchandise buyer. She worked at the company in different managerial positions until she became the company’s president and chief merchandising officer. In 2009, Susan McGalla left American Eagle and developed her own retail and financial consulting firm. In 2012, she was engaged by the Pittsburgh Steelers and continues to be their Director of Strategic Planning and Growth. Also, McGalla sits on the boards of HFF Inc. and the Magee-Women Hospital Research Institute and Foundation.

While joining the Steelers, Susan McGalla is applying marketing strategies by engaging fans though social media and transforming their wishes into reality. She incorporated the campaign on the Steelers website in order to make fan’s searching for outfits more convenient. Fans also can participate in a contest that gives them the chance to win a new Steelers wardrobe.
